The Swan & Railway Hotel

We provided a full range of design and construction services throughout the duration of the project.

Dilapidations survey of the existing building was carried out by Monument and repairs specified which were included within the architecture and interior design processes. The brief was to restore the dilapidated 1898 Public House and Hotel back to its former glory and retain the original features and character of this much-loved Victorian pub.

Given the buildings proximity to an adjacent rail line, discussions and liaison with Network Rail was critical to the timing of the project and the external repair works which required scaffolding adjacent to the live overhead lines. Despite a lengthy and often difficult process, the required permission was secured to allow the works to progress.
